Live Oaks 24 X 30
Most of these paintings were done early in my career. But even now I am occasionally drawn to representational paintings and will sometimes produce realistic work, almost as a form of recreation. There is a recipe, I know where the work is going, how it is "supposed" to look, and I know when it is done. This is so much easier for me than abstraction. However the journey to abstraction continues to lure me in, despite the challenges it presents.
